The homeowners of Arlington Road came to us with a beautiful but tired Victorian terrace in need of a full refresh. Their vision was to retain the property's historic character while upgrading it for modern living—a seamless balance of old and new.
They wanted to open up the layout, improve functionality, and introduce light, warmth, and style throughout. It was important to them that the original period features were preserved and celebrated, not replaced.
We began by restoring key architectural elements, including decorative plasterwork, fireplaces, and original sash windows. At the same time, we reconfigured parts of the interior to improve flow and optimise the use of space.
The kitchen and bathrooms were fully renovated with modern, timeless finishes, including shaker cabinetry, heritage-inspired fixtures, and statement tiling. Throughout the house, we installed new hardwood floors, updated the lighting scheme, and introduced neutral tones to complement the home’s natural elegance.
Upgrades to insulation, heating, and electrics brought the home in line with today’s standards, all while maintaining its original soul.
Arlington Road is now a charming, character-filled home that’s both visually striking and highly functional. We preserved everything that made the property unique while introducing smart updates that improve day-to-day living.
